June 11, 2017 Life is precious!

We were able to attend our niece, Simone’s, 16th birthday party! It was a great day, weather was perfect, food was great, and we were able to visit with our family.  We also got to meet our newest niece, Annabella, seven weeks old! What a beautiful blessing!

Chris is doing, no less than, amazing! The only thing I can say is that all of our prayers have been so powerful! He is gaining weight, 18 pounds! His coloring is back to his normal. He has minimal side effects! Of course he still tires easily and doesn’t have the stamina he had before but he is doing better than anyone would have thought. Prayers!!!

Remember our fig tree? Like Chris, it has filled out nicely! Like Chris, it is a little bent over, but it looks strong. The small fruit on our tree and the time we have had at home is leading us to this fall when we will be enjoying figs and prayerfully, Chris’ return to better health!

We would like to request that all of our prayer warriors pray for our Sister-in-law, Liz’s, Dad. He was hospitalized yesterday and he and his family need our prayers! Thank you all!

June 2, 3, 4, 5, 2017 Sorry I’m slacking!

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven’t been posting. Chris and I have been busy and time seems to go very fast. I’ve been working at our office and inside and outside at home. Chris has been “inspecting” my outside work, visiting the shop, getting blood drawn, and he actually folded a few pieces of laundry too for the first time in our over 40 years together!!! He cracks me up sometimes! We have enjoyed some time with family and friends too.

Chris is continuing to grow stronger, gain weight and get ready for his round of chemo treatments next week. He is quite the trooper! He tried to hit a bucket of balls at the driving range, the other day, and after a couple swings he decided it would be better to just putt a few on the green instead.

We hope you all are enjoying this beautiful weather as much as we are and maybe more! 😀

May 28, 29, 30, 2017 A memorable weekend!

Chris and I hope you had a good holiday with family and friends! We would also like to say thank you to everyone that has served and protected us. Our son-in-law, Randy, served 9 years in the Navy on the USS Albuquerque! We are very proud of him and his accomplishments.

It’s amazing how well my honey is doing. We had a very busy weekend and he hung in there better than I thought he would. Sunday we went to church, Mrs. Kamilaris’ 80th birthday, and a Mud Hens game. We wound up leaving in the 7th inning because it kept raining, but it was also a long day and Chris was cold and tired. Spiros and Jaime had been building a deck all weekend so we went to check out the progress on Monday. We all know who couldn’t keep their hands out of this project right??

Chris’ platelets are low again so he will need another unit on Tuesday. Low platelets make him feel weak and tired. He said his arms feel sore too, I said could that be from helping with the deck??!!

May 26 & 27, 2017 Almost Normal

Our life has adjusted to our new normal. We get to see our grand babies often, Chris has blood work, we get to see our kids too, we hang out together, maybe go to The Valley for a bit. We had our bikes in the shop for a tuneup so we could try and get some exercise. Chris continues to eat well and is slowly gaining weight, although his pants are still drooping.

It’s a holiday weekend, another holiday we get to do the things we enjoy, most of all, we are HOME to enjoy them! We might enjoy our beautiful yard, maybe a barbecue or a Mud Hens game or an 80th birthday party. Whatever we decide to do, it won’t have anything to do with a hospital and that is why we will not take our yard or a barbecue or a Mud Hens game for granted again!

I hope you enjoy your holiday! Our friend Lori gave me a present once that says “Good friends and family are like stars, you can’t always see them but you always know they are there.”

5/24 & 5/25, 2017 Gaining weight!

Chris has gained 10 lbs in the last two weeks! If you have seen him, you know he needed 10 pounds bad! His color is better too! Chris is still cooking and eating his dandelion greens. He also started saving the broth from cooking the greens. He fills a coffee mug with the broth and heats it up. Once it is nice and warm he adds salt, olive oil and fresh lemon juice, enjoy! I have had a few sips and it isn’t too bad.

My sister, Cindy, and brother-in-law, Clark, are moving a couple blocks to a new apartment, this week. Chris and I will be sharing their 2nd home with them for about 3 months starting in July, when we return to Columbus. We are very thankful for Cindy and Clark and their limitless love, support, and prayers!

I also wanted to give a big thank you for a few dinners that were either bought for us or made for us recently! Thank you to Thea Maria and Theo Andy, Becky and Tim, Mama and our nephew Joe!

Chris and I are sending love and prayers to all of you, our family and family of friends!
