5/22 & 5/23, 2017 All is well!

Our new normal life has been moving on. Chris isn’t able to work, he gets tired easy and he just doesn’t have the strength or stamina. However, his mind is very sharp and the knowledge he has about the HVAC industry amazes me. Some things to keep his mind working, Spiros and Jimmy have him look at jobs they need to quote. He has stopped to  say “Hi” to some of our customers. He will stop at some of our jobs to see our coworkers. He reads magazines from the HVAC industry and of course some golf magazines.

In 1989, when we moved to our home, Chris and I agreed that the inside work was mine and the outside work was his! Now, of course, he does a few chores inside and I would help with some things outside, but for the most part, that is what we did. Fast forward to today…..I spent the whole day outside with my sister LuAnne, planting flowers and pulling weeds! I’m sure that Chris would like to be out with us planting flowers BUT I’m very sure he is happy to not have to pull weeds! I hate pulling weeds  by the way! The flowers look awesome!  The weeds are not done!😩

May 20 & 21, 2017 Cards of Inspiration!

I have mentioned before about all the kind, wonderful cards that Chris has received. We both thank you all so much. The words in them touch Chris and sometimes he gets tears in his eyes! We recently received a card from friends that are in our heating and air conditioning group called THACCA. I am sharing the words in the card with you because, for me, these words ring so very true about my honey!

You Can Do It

When life looks like a mountain that is impossible to climb, just remember how incredible you are….You have all the resources you need to see you through. How do I know this about you? I have heard the optimism and laughter in you voice, and I have seen the graceful way you deal with adversity. You are a courageous person who has faced one challenge after another and always came bouncing back with a smile on your face.

I admire your resilience and courage, especially when you feel doubtful and uncertain. It is in these times that you show your true character.

Because life is testing you right now, I want to remind you that you are much bigger then you think you are. Your buoyant spirit will win once again. Whatever it takes, you can do it.

Hugs to all of you! PRAY!

May 18 & 19, 2017 Last Day!

WooHoo! Last day of chemo! Well, this rounds last day. Chris is doing great! It doesn’t surprise me, just because the other chemo treatments he got were the “biggest gun they had”, we were told. If he could get through that, he can get through anything! The worst thing that happened this week is on the second day his IV didn’t work so they had to put an IV in another spot. Chris can’t stand the needles or the blood! Poor guy!

Chris has been visiting a few of our long time customers/friends this week. I haven’t been with him, but I’m pretty sure they are thrilled and surprised to see him. He is looking great, a little thin, but other that that he is his usual self. Thank you Lord for these days!

5/16 & 5/17, 2017 So far so good!

Day 3 of this round of chemo is complete, 2 more days to go. Chris wanted to go by himself, to his appointment, so he told me to go to work again! I don’t know why he keeps telling me to go to work when he knows I’m retired! Lol! Chris continues to amaze me! He is so positive, strong, and he is the best patient, not only for the doctors but for me too. He continues to eat his dandelion greens everyday.  He is really eating good, it surprises me sometimes, how much he eats. Chris thinks he gained “5” pounds!! WooHoo!

I would like to put out a prayer request for our Maumee Valley Heating family. They have been taking care of our business and we are heading into one of the busiest times of the year! Everyone has been working hard for Chris and I and all our  customers. We are truly blessed to have such a dedicated crew! Chris and I love and appreciate EVERYONE at The Valley!

May 14 & 15, 2017 Another day one!

Another round of chemo started today. So far so good. We went and had a California Burrito that Chris has been wanting for a couple weeks, to celebrate! Truthfully, I’m worried that food will start to taste bad again, so when he asked if I wanted to go, I said of course. Plus I could have a margarita!😛

It took a couple hours for our appointment today so I brought my cribbage board so I could beat the sick guy! The joke was on me, because he won both games. Good thing we weren’t playing for money or I would have tried harder! 😁

Could the weather have been any better for Mother’s Day? From morning till night it was beautiful. We were both very happy to have a “normal” holiday. We enjoyed a brunch at our neice’s and nephew’s home, thank you Jen and Keith! Dinner was a barbecue at our Mama’s home! Thank you Mom! We are truly blessed!
