It’s Sunday, a day of rest! Our morning was busy with visitors and our afternoon was pretty quiet. Chris had to have 2 pints of blood, 2 bags of magnesium and some potassium powder today. We walked the hall hand in hand to the family waiting room so we could see the progress on the new part of the hospital that is being built. It was a simple pleasure to walk with him again.
Two weeks ago today we heard news that would change our lives forever! Acute Myloid Leukemia! We were frightened, confused, sad, and any other emotion you could imagine in this situation. We were with Pete and Liz, cousin Chris, our daughter Jan and Chris and I. The doctor left the room and none of us could speak. There were no words. I don’t think any of us will ever forgot that day! Chris’ body has been put through hell and back. Today he is eating, walking, and talking to his visitors. Sharing words of wisdom with the nurses, our nieces and nephews and our children. He seems to be a changed man…but the same man.
Oh just a heads up….if you come to hang out with Chris and he asks for the chop stick, he means “Chap Stick”! Cracks me up every time, so I don’t want to correct him! LOL!

Glad to see he is up and walking and sharing his wisdom … Love and prayers are still coming your way… Stay Strong ALL of you…

Thanks for the updates Patty. I’ve had the sniffles so don’t want to come visit. Glad he is making progress. Please give him our best. And as long as you’re commenting on Chop Stick, my favorite is to hear him say thirty (30). Makes me smile too. Let us know if we can do anything for you.
